When I came sixth in the Hawaii Ironman in 2001 I was sure that I could win in 2002. However, I was injured in a bike accident on the island of Lanzarote in 2002 and became paralysed from my chest down. Yet I took control and still became the Ironman world champion. After two third places and one second place I was the Ironman world champion in 2006. That day I wore number 185. From that day on, number 185 represents perseverance, never giving up, continuing to have faith in your dreams and respect for life. I established coaching centre 185 to pass on the same values and norms to my athletes. Experience has taught me that BES-T products are the perfect support for our athletes, which is why these products are integrated in our schemes.
