Arginine is used to make nitric oxide (NO) in the body. NO dilates the blood vessels leading to an increased blood supply to the muscles. This increased blood supply, carrying oxygen and nutrients, strengthens the muscles, energy supply and the immune system. The vasodilating effect of arginine also reduces the heart’s workload which increases cardiovascular performance.
